MURRAY BRIDGE
Yarding: 2200
Crossbred lambs to $148
Hoggets to $126
Wethers to $108
THE final Murray Bridge prime lamb sale for the season was held on Monday, with crossbreds making to $148.
Elders Murray Bridge livestock manager Paul Keynes said he was happy with how the sale went.
“It was a good, solid sale for this late in the season,” he said.
“Prices held up well, with store buyers very strong, and there were still lambs good enough for the trade.”
Landmark livestock agent Kev Keller said the sale was a good way to cap off Murray Bridge’s prime auctions.
“It was the end of our prime sales, with the last of the lambs coming in to clean up,” he said.
“Generally, the lighter ones struggled a bit more than previous sales, but the better lambs still sold well.
“All of our prime sales have gone extremely well this year, it’s been very pleasing.”
Topping the sale with three lambs at $148 was AWP MacAllan, Woodchester, selling to Thomas Foods International. The same vendor also sold a further seven at $145 to TFI, and another two at $136.
