JAMESTOWN
Yarding: 11,000
Wethers to $126
Ewes to $210
Crossbred lambs to $118
THERE was a big crowd at the Jamestown market on Thursday last week with demand pushing prices up.
Landmark Jamestown’s Shannon Jaeschke said the sale was “above expectations” as people sought out stock, particularly breeding ewes and crossbred lambs.
“A lot of people went home empty-handed but we expect the good inquiry to continue,” he said.
Elders Jamestown’s Scott Fleetwood said the sale results were a sign of the confidence in the season following widespread rain.
He said there was a good, even lineup of sheep available, setting the trend for sales in the next few months.
