THE ferry between Eyre and Yorke peninsulas will be suspended temporarily due to the construction at the Lucky Bay terminal.
Sea SA company said its Spencer Gulf Ferry service will cease operating during the construction of the export and import shoreside facilities with an expected restart date in September, 2018.
A statement from Sea SA said site safety was of upmost importance and, with the machinery required for the works, it would be unsafe to have public onsite.
During the closure a project to deepen the Lucky Bay approach channel will begin, with this expected to take about four months to complete.
The Sea SA reservation offices at Wallaroo and Lucky Bay will remain staffed and open until service restarts.
