RECOGNISING the importance of its members being tech savvy, the Country Women’s Association held a two-hour computer and internet training session in Adelaide this week, as part of Telstra’s Digital Ambassadors Program.
Ten members participated in the introductory training course on Tuesday, aided by Telstra volunteer staff, which preceded the CWA’s State Council held on Wednesday and Thursday.
The program is designed to improve participant knowledge and confidence in using tablet devices, such as iPads, understanding apps available and improving knowledge on accessing and exploring the internet.
SA CWA president Linda Bertram believes one reason for the CWA’s recent success in attracting new and younger members has been its use of social media.
“So understanding and using technology is critical for the future of the CWA,” she said.
This is the second time CWA members have participated in this type of training, with a previous session conducted in mid-2016.
