VENDORS left happy from the Strathalbyn store sale today, with strong buyer competition, particularly from Landmark Kingston and Spence Dix & Co.
Steers made up to $1360, while heifers made up to $1320 for a pen of 363kg Angus from GL&TA Johnson, sold to TFI.
One of the top steer pens was sold by Muster Enterprises for six Angus weighing 370kg, while TJ Steed & J Watson sold 11 Murray Grey steers weighing 361kg also at $1360.
Heinrich & Place sold five Angus steers, 386kg, at $1350, while Maljudian Brinkley sold five Murray Grey steers, 378kg, at $1345 – both pens bought by Landmark Kingston.
West Creek, Langhorne Creek, were a larger vendor, selling 17 Angus steers, 246kg, at $1130, while a second pen of 15 only weighing 223kg made $1340 or $6/kg.
West Creek also sold Angus heifers, with 19 weighing 231kg making $1000, while a second pen of 19 at 215kg made $990.
AMAC Pty Ltd, Inman Valley, also sold a few Angus pens, with 11 steers at 219kg making $1030, 19 steers at 173kg making $910, 14 heifers at 234kg making $1000 and 20 at 177kg making $940 or $5.30/kg.
