A good season and buoyant livestock prices translated into strong interest and plenty of sales at the 39th annual SE Field Days at Lucindale last week.
Over the two days 19,000 people went through the gates – down from the long term average of 22,000- with predicted hot weather keeping a few field day goers away.
Field Days secretary Lyn Crosby said it had been a success for the more than 560 exhibitors.
“In the current economic climate we don’t know how it will go but there were very few traders who said they didn’t do well,” she said. “All the years of hard work and good will are paying off.”
Cox Rural won the best overall site.
