DESPITE drizzling rain, the Meadows Country Fair in the Adelaide Hills still shone as a showcase of local talent, produce, demonstrations and entertainment.
Some of the events held throughout the day included whip cracking, a champion cow parade, egg throwing, young farmers challenge, hay stacking, Fleurieu Milk Udder Tug Championship and the Celebrity Udder Tug, which donated $2000 to the Cancer Council.
The Meadows Country Fair is a community organisation and all proceeds are distributed to all the local community groups, sporting bodies and emergency services. Also, each year 10 per cent of the gate takings are donated to a chosen charity.
These funds also went to the Cancer Council of SA this year.
Stock Journal’s ALISHA FOGDEN was there.
