Australian JCB distributor, CEA, has released the latest version of the clever TM320S telescopic wheel loader to the local market.
With increased productivity, lower running costs and improved equipment, the TM320S now features Tier 4 final emissions standards, an improved cylinder end dampening and an electronically controlled, programmable reversible cooling fan.
The machine will also offer a longer service life via beefed up bushes made of harder wearing bronze graphite in the chassis pivot and boom.
Other tweaks include a tow hitch lamp, re-designed instrument panel, an easier to use door catch and more in-cab storage.
Road travel performance is improved with use of block tread tyre option and night time visibility is addressed with an optional lighting package that fits high performance LED lights for 360 degree coverage.
JCB chief innovation officer, Tim Burnhope said the TM320S cleverly combined the central driving position and visibility offered by a wheel loader with the reach and lift versatility of a telescopic handler.
“It is a combination that creates a formidable machine for agricultural handling and loading operations,” he said.
The machine offers 3200 kilogram lift capacity at the full lift height of 5.2 metres, and 1750kg of lift at full forward reach – 2.95m ahead of the front wheels.
Designed for general farm loading work, the TM320S is fitted with a 4.4-litre JCB EcoMAX 108 kilowatt engine, coupled to a six-speed powershift transmission with 40 kilometre an hour gearing.
Torque lock-up direct drive in fourth to sixth gear and a load-sensing hydraulics output of 160 litres a minute round out the package.
The powershift transmission can be operated in automatic or manual mode.
Emissions control is via a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system but without a diesel particulate filter (DPF) which helps reduce servicing costs.
“It’s a very compact installation that makes efficient use of AdBlue without detracting from the engine’s excellent power, torque and fuel consumption characteristics,” Mr Burnhope said.
The new hydraulic reversible cooling fan option allows the operator to choose reversing intervals, as well as manual activation to purge dust and debris.
The TM320S gets improved cylinder end damping to soften the blows when the boom is fully extended.
JCB’s Auto Smooth Ride System boom suspension option continues unchanged.
The auxiliary hydraulic system controls have been revamped – a cab switch indicates when this feature is available, making it easy to fit fork and bucket hydraulic coupling attachments.
