The prime beef cattle auction at the Cairns Show was on par if not better than current market conditions, with the yard average of $1395 per head achieving a gross return of $248,765.

The woodchops are always a popular event on the show circuit, with Cairns being no different. The Australian competitors came from all over including Queensland, Northern Territory and NSW and were joined by a Canadian chopper.
