THE Great Flood Rally in Wentworth, NSW, has become a favourite event on the tractor rally club circuit and rally entries have now closed.
There are 205 rally entrants taking part - including 189 from outside the local postcode, including Tasmania and Western Australia, and 27 static entries.
There will be an expected crowd of 2000 people visiting Wentworth during the two day event.
The organising committee are looking forward to a successful weekend for all involved.
“The 60th Great Flood Rally 2016 is being promoted on both radio and television in the Riverland, as well as in the Bendigo and Horsham, Vic, areas,” event organiser Jill Davidson said.
“We expect this will generate good spectator visitation rates from these districts.
“With many new businesses in town since the last trek they are bound to benefit from the trekkers, their support groups and visitors coming to Wentworth for the event.”
The Great Wentworth Tractor Rally is held every five years to commemorate the role that the tractor played in saving the township of Wentworth, and many other townships along the River Murray, during the 1956 floods.
