THE 2015 harvest started on October 2 and was pretty smooth throughout, according to Viterra operations general manager Tim Krause.
“It was quite a safe harvest, compared to the previous year, because of the changes made to operating hours and elevation capacity after feedback from growers,” he said.
“We also worked closely with growers to ensure we had the right segregations at the right sites to ensure growers didn’t have to travel long distances or not being able to achieve the extra value that is there by holding it to a higher segregation.”
Mr Krause said feedback through Viterra’s annual Post-Harvest Grower Survey was important to identify areas of improvement.
“It is valuable for us if growers can tell us what worked and what didn’t,” he said.
Viterra will also conduct an internal review, along with holding meetings with silo committees and grower groups to further improve customer service.
