JOINED and scanned-in-lamb ewes were popular at Jamestown last Thursday, with 2014-drops selling to $144 and breeders to $122.
Yangya Hills, Gladstone, sold 87 June/July 2014-drop Moorundie Park-blood SIL ewes at $144 to CIAA, while 743 November-shorn August 2014-drop North Ashrose-blood ewes from GR Coleman, Jamestown, made $130 to Elders Keith.
Almond Grove, Jamestown, also sold SIL ewes – 140 September-shorn May/June 2014-drop White River-blood ewes, SIL to Faraway Hills, at $97 to Landmark Loxton, while their 163 sisters that scanned undetectable made $92 to Wardle Co Spalding.
IW&WR Elson, Kielpa, needed a flock reduction, so sold 88 September-shorn April/May 2014-drop ewes at $122 to Landmark Melrose, while 75 October-shorn 2011-drop ewes made $113 to BR&C Ouyen.
Darlain also needed to reduce numbers, selling 129 April/May 2011-2012 Leachim-bloods, which had been running with a White Suffolk ram, at $118 to Spence Dix& Co; while Depot Flats sold 118 Aug/Sept 2010-drop Morley-blood ewes at $124 to Landmark Kadina.
Navillus Downs, Tanunda, sold ewe lambs – 135 April 2015-drop Ridgway-bloods at $79, while DL Need, Peterborough, also sold 55 Kelvale-blood ewe lambs at $66, with both lots going to Hill Livestock.
RG&DA Hotchin, Peterborough, sold 106 September-shorn March 2015-drop SAMM-Merino crossbred ewes at $98, while their 73 woolly June-drop crossbred ewe lambs made $88 to Hill Livestock.
