RECORD tonnages were received at Viterra sites last week, with mild weather conditions blessing croppers across the state.
The weekly Viterra harvest report on Tuesday said the past week was "the largest receival week ever in November" with 1,335,960 tonnes of grain delivered into its SA sites.
Tuesday last week was also the biggest day of harvest so far, with more than 250,000t delivered.
Eyre Peninsula sites at Arno Bay with 6000t and Rudall with 8000t broke their grower receivals records on Tuesday last week, while central region sites were consistently busy Monday and Tuesday last week, receiving more than 100,000t of grain a day.
Viterra has received more than 3mt of the SA harvest.
The report said the western region had received 1.41mt so far this season, with far west growers about to complete their harvest, while others on the west coast were more than half way there.
In the central region, where 1.49mt had been received, wheat deliveries were ramping up as pulse harvest concluded, while the eastern region doubled its total to 385,752t.
Shipping of new-season grain from SA has also startede, loading from Outer Harbor, Inner Harbour, Wallaroo, Port Lincoln and Thevenard.
Grain Producers SA chief executive officer Darren Arney said the rain in early November did not appear to have affected crops across large areas of the state.
"But there have been quality downgrades," he said.
"Not a lot of malt barley is being delivered, mainly feed 2 and 3 grades because of it being such a low-rainfall year.
"However, farmers are doing quite well in terms of yield for the rainfall they have had."
