A ram described as “only a lamb” has taken out the Supreme champion Border Leicester ribbon, at this year’s Australian Sheep & Wool Show.
Longtime supporter of the Shropshire breed, Marilyn Mangione exhibited the supreme for the breed at the Sheep and Wool Show.
Judge of the Dorset Downs, James Bond, Turpoint, Cornwall, UK, was very impressed with the quality of the sheep paraded before him.
A lifetime dedication to one of the oldest Brtitish breeds continued to be rewarded when Des and Marilyn Stevens, Hallylulya Ryeland stud, Heywood were complimented by judge James Bond, Cornwall, UK, for the trueness to type of their sheep.
When awarding the supreme breed exhibit to Greg Good, Bowen Suffolks, Millthorpe, NSW for his champion ram, judge Andrew Frick, Gypsum Hill Suffolk stud, Padthaway, SA, noted the outstanding qualities of the animal.
Last year’s show provided plenty of entertainment for the sheep and wool industry’s leading figures.
