THE final Mount Pleasant market for 2014 yarded about 2000 sheep and 190 cattle.
With the summer break fast approaching and feed drying off, agents were pleased to see there were still numbers about and stock of reasonable quality.
The best lambs made $115, with two other pens making $114.
Talk among the crowd was that the same lambs would have made about $150-$160 at Dublin on Monday.
Hoggets attracted good demand, with the tops making to $88 and several lots at $80 and $84.
In a mixed yarding of ewes, a pen of 4.5-year-olds made $66 to a restocker.
Cattle presented largely in good condition, with cows selling to $740, twice.
Two older Poll Hereford heifers made $700, and steers made to $800 for two black steers to Meatbarn.
Another pen of two Murray Grey steers made $770, also to Meatbarn.
