REPEAT client Bruce Bridgard, Wynarka, clinched the $1200 top price ram at the annual Lime Vale Poll Merino ram sale at Weetulta held on August 19.
Mr Bridgard - buying through Landmark Murray Bridge - said he appreciated the 18.4-micron ram's barrel, wool, depth of body and suitability to his Mallee country.
"He is a nice plain, big-bodied ram, good for the Mallee," he said.
The Lime Vale-blood ram weighed 93 kilograms and tested at 2.9 standard deviation, 15.9 per cent coefficient of variation and 99.7pc comfort factor.
Mr Bridgard, who also bought the second-top price ram, took four rams averaging $913.
Overall, Lime Vale offered 20 rams and sold 18, averaging $767.
A mini auction sold 11 of 22 rams, averaging $500.
The Lime Vale sale draft averaged 19.6M, 3.2SD, CV of 16.6pc and 99.3pc CF.
Lime Vale principal Gavin Adams said he was very happy with the sale result, and pleased to see a few new buyers.
"There was also a good station order which put a base in the sale," he said.
RJ&BA Edwards, Devon Station, via Broken Hill, bought 10 rams, including three in the main auction averaging $634 and seven in the mini auction.
MK&PK Lienert, Yumali, took six to $800 three times, and Warren Trading bought two in the main auction at $800 and $750.
