NEW faces were a highlight for Hansi Graetz at his Pepper Well Poll Merino ram sale at Keyneton last week.
"There were at least two new clients and some other new people looking, which was positive," he said.
Buyers pushed the top price to $2100 at lot 3, knocked down to DW Kubenk & Sons, Tepko.
Peter and Brenton Kubenk said they liked the top ram for its length of body and wool quality, and its good figures.
"We just liked everything about him," Brenton said.
The ram weighed 106.5 kilograms, after weaning at 47kg, and had fleece measurements of 19.8 micron, standard deviation of 2.7M and coefficient of variation 13.8 per cent. The complete sale draft of 36 rams tested an average 21.4M, 3.2M SD, 14.9pc CV and 91kg.
Overall, 20 rams sold, averaging $890.
Volume buyers were repeat clients with last year's top price buyers Thorlindah, which purchased four rams to $1000, averaging $750, through Elders Roseworthy.
