RAMS sold to $3000 at the Lorelmo Keyneton Station Poll Merino ram sale on Monday last week.
In just the second sale for the Keynes family - who bought the Lorelmo flock in October 2012 from its Keith base - 45 of 50 rams sold, averaging a solid $1044.
The sale draft at Keyneton had an average micron of 19.4, standard deviation of 3.1M and coefficient of variation of 15.9 per cent.
The $3000 sale-topper came in lot 1, a Wallaloo Park 955 son weighing 83 kilograms, and bought over the phone by Alan and Janet Hall, Hallett.
With an of 3.2SD and 17.5CV, it had a -1.6.M deviation.
Elders' Craig Eckert said the ram was selected for its length of body and square frame.
"He also has a good, well crimped, heavy-cutting fleece," he said.
The Halls, who bought the top-price ram last year at the same price, have been on Lorelmo bloodlines for many years.
The second top-price was $2400 for lot 2, an 82.5kg paternal brother to the top-price ram, bought by WM Evans, Keyneton.
This ram had a -0.1M deviation, 3.1SD and 15.8CV.
Mr Evans, buying through Landmark, also paid the $2300 third top price and averaged $1867 for three rams.
The volume buyers were RT,SL&JM Wilson, Yalda Downs Station, via Broken Hill, who took home 22 rams to $1100, averaging $736.
