LOYAL local support and four new buyers saw Andoma Poll Merino stud clear all but one of the 50 rams offered, and secure a $3300 top on August 22.
Principal Andrew Mosey, Mundulla, was happy to see regular local buyers keep the sale going at a good pace. He said some of the buyers were new to the breed.
The top price ram was out of one of Andoma's own stud-bred rams.
"He is a good, heavy wool cutter, with very sound body confirmation," Mr Mosey said.
Duell Partners, Mundulla, bought the ram that had a micron of 18.5, 3 standard deviation, 99.6 per cent comfort factor and 16.2pc coefficient of variation. The Duells bought six rams in total.
Volume buyers included AB,PN and KB Evans and AR&CM Hinge, both from Mundulla, who each took seven rams. Tom Penna, Elders, was auctioneer at the sale conducted by Elders in conjunction with Spence, Dix and Co, Keith.
