THE support of volume and repeat clients ensured Leawarra White Suffolk stud's 18th on-property sale resulted in a solid clearance for Harry and Carolyn Holmes.
Having conducted each one of their annual sales, Landmark auctioneer Malcolm Scroop described the line-up as being very even with the rams showing "good length and shape".
Mr Holmes said these were the traits he looked to produce in rams - evident in the 2014 line-up.
Allan bought the $1000 top-price ram.
A happy past customer of Leawarra, he said "it was one of the best, quality rams I've seen this year."
A June-drop, he had a post-weaning weight of 13.7, a fat depth of -0.3, an eye muscle depth of 0.0 and an index of 169 on Carcase Plus.
Mr Florance took home another two rams, both twins, who had pwwt of 13, pemd 0.2 and a ranking of 170 on Carcase Plus.
Mr Scoop was encouraged by the "good support of the repeat buyers", many of whom bought in volume on the day.
Troy Edwards, Gumcreek Creamery, Burra, took home 13 rams to a top of $700, averaging $580.
"The Leawarra rams grow out well and produce quick-growing lambs," he said.
Keith Willis, Willis Family Trust, Tarlee, bought nine rams to a top of $900 and CJ Smurden, Ashborne, picked up four to a top of $650.
Despite a lower sale average than last year, Mr Holmes was pleased with the sale.
"Clearance was good, but we would have liked to see the average up a bit," Mr Holmes said.
"A few of the regulars couldn't make it due to other commitments on the day, which would have given the sale that extra," he said.
