Borung Poll Merino stud posted an increased top price, sale average and clearance rate at its on-property sale at Waikerie last month.
In the breakdown, 46 of 60 rams offered sold to $2000 at an average of $998 - an increase of $200 and $167, respectively on last year's sale.
The Freeman family, Penong, paid the top price for a 90-kilogram ram - sired by Wallaloo Park 567 - with wool measurements of 18.3 micron, 2.9 standard deviation, 15.7 coefficient of variation and 99 per cent comfort factor.
Principals Brenton and Penny Kroehn were delighted with the frame and consistency of rams on offer, with the line-up averaging 19.3M, 3.1SD, 16CV and 99.4CF.
The sale attracted 15 registered bidders, including five new clients.
Volume buyers included MH&NE Falting & Sons, Loxton, with four to $1800, Glen Hoffman, Loxton, four to $1300, Mark and Daryl Pahl, Murray Bridge, four to $1200, Mick Evans, Mantung, four to $800, Lyndon and Brian Hampel, Loxton, three to $1700, Gavin Durdin, Halidon, two to $1400 and Nadia, Loxton, two to $1000.
Classings Limited bought six on behalf of Broughton Vale, five for Netallie Station and two for Aston Station. Two new Mid North clients bought six between them to a top of $1800.
