THE Limestone Coast Farmers & Makers Markets has a rule of thumb - to ensure all products are handmade or locally produced.
Chairperson Morris Dickins said this meant stallholders had quality products to showcase.
"You have to make your own products; there is no buying and on-selling," he said.
"It's a quality of product they get when something is handmade or handcrafted.
"It takes time and it's magnificent stuff."
With the area booming in summer months, markets were held each Sunday in January at the Robe Institute and in February, on the first and third Sunday.
Mr Dickins said the summer markets had live music which lent "a really good feel to it".
About 20-30 stallholders sell a range of products, from seafood and fresh meat to coffee, tea blends and alpaca-based products.
After a few tough years, honey has made a comeback to the stands.
"It's a fantastic year for honey," Mr Dickins said.
Stallholders also make the trek to the Penola Coonawarra Arts Festival, to be held this year on May 21-24.
