UNFORTUNATELY, far too many people are touched by cancer, whether it be their family, friends or acquaintances.
For this reason, as part of the 2014 Cancer Council Pink Ribbon Day, Dublin saleyards stalwart Budgie Schiller let himself be roped into "showing his pink bits" at the market on October 28.
Budgie fronted up in a pink leotard and tutu to raise funds for breast cancer research.
"It started when we were just talking in general one day at Dublin; one of the ladies had lost her mother to breast cancer," he said.
"Also, one of my clients I did a clearing sale for last year lost her husband, and then she was diagnosed.
"You do what you can to help – this is just another one of my (crazy) ideas."
Budgie conducted his auctioneering duties at Dublin wearing the pink attire.
Budgie's fundraiser was just one of the events happening in SA for this year's Pink Ribbon Day on Monday, October 27.
This year, Cancer Council aims to raise $9.47 million nationally to continue to fund vital research, support and prevention programs to the thousands of women affected by cancer, and their families.
