SATIRICAL wine show Plonk will light up SA screens on Tuesday, July 7, on Channel Nine.
The second 'vintage' of the mockumentary, which tracks the misadventures of trying to make a serious wine show, showcases SA's wine regions.
The Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Adelaide City will all feature as Plonk's hapless TV crew - The Chaser's Chris Taylor, Barossa-born Joshua Tyler and creator Nathan Earl - fumble their way through SA wineries across six weeks.
Personalities to feature in the second series include food legend Maggie Beer, comedian Greg Fleet, The Chaser's Andrew Hansen and Premier Jay Weatherill, as well as the stars of SA's wineries.
"After seeing Plonk on Stan we had to show this brilliant production to our local viewers," Nine Adelaide managing director Sean O’Brien said.
"Our state is the star in this irreverent take-off on the television industry and I have no doubts that viewers will love the send-up of our unique food and wine regions."
Plonk season two is a One Stone Pictures production made in association with ITV Studios Australia and supported by Screen Australia, the South Australian Tourism Commission, South Australian Film Corporation, Channel Nine and Wine Selectors.
It will screen on Channel Nine on Tuesday, July 7, after The Voice.
