THE quality of the Dennis family's Kurrabi Park Suffolk rams is easy to see.
Based at Koppio in the Eyre Peninsula, the family has been quietly establishing and building up their breeding flock with top-class genetics.
At their newly established on-property annual ram sale in October, they offered 28, 15-month-old Suffolk rams with bodyweights of up to 118 kilograms.
The quality was appreciated and ensured good competition on earlier lots, topping at $1200. But as orders filled, competition dropped off and the last four rams sold went for the bargain basement price of $500 each.
First-time Kurrabi Park buyer Nick Maddern, Yeelanna, paid the $1200 top for KP120082twin, a son of Burwood 100058, a ram that is breeding well. The sons in this offering are his first Kurrabi Park progeny, after being used as a ram lamb in the Burwood flock.
