YOUNG ewes averaged about $120, and topped at $222, at the annual Minlaton off-shears sale last Friday.
Elders Minlaton's Adam Pitt said they yarded good quality ewes, with older ewes averaging about $80.
"It was pretty good considering Jamestown was down the previous day and the current weather conditions," he said.
"There was a bit of a soft start but as the sale eased in, it improved a bit, and we were happy with the average in the end.
"The sheep presented well, but the bidding represented the season we're experiencing."
AD Farrow & Co, Stansbury, topped the sale with a run of 57 Dohne ewes.
The April/May 2013-drop, August-shorn, Babirra-blood ewes were secured by Elders Victor Harbor.
The top price Merino ewes were sold by NA&DM Daniell, Port Giles, with 180 April 2013-drop, July-shorn, Minta-blood ewes bought by Elders Lucindale for $134.
Twartz Producers, Yorketown, sold 21 young first-cross Dohne ewes, September-shorn and Babirra-blood, for $130, as well as 70 April/May 2013-drop, September-shorn, Moorundie Park-blood Merinos at $126.
RT&MG Farrow sold 73 August 2013-drop, March-shorn, Minta-blood ewes at $126.
AD Farrow & Co sold 159 September/October 2013-drop, August-shorn, Babirra-blood Merino ewes at $122.
M Mahar & Sons, Minlaton, sold 121 April/May 2013-drop, July-shorn, Glenowie-blood ewes at $120.
