The livestock industry in SA has lost one of its service meatworks.
THE SA livestock industry shrunk a little smaller on Tuesday, March 3, with the Normanville Meatworks placed into voluntary administration.
BRI Ferrier is now handling the administration.
In its heyday in the 1990s Normanille Meatworks was handling 6000 units of sheep and 1000 units of cattle a week but numbers have dwindled in recent years.
The management of the Normanville Meatworks declined to comment when contacted by the Stock Journal on Wednesday.
