ONKAPARINGA Hills breeder Melissa Johnson was awarded the grand champion goat ribbon for a doe that was also sashed senior champion doe, reserve senior champion doe and grand champion doe.
Judge Peter Mitchell, Shepparton, Vic, was very impressed with the grand champion, which came from the doe 36 months and over class.
"She's really long and feminine," he said.
"She's a beautiful doe and a really good example of the Boer goat breed."
Grand champion buck went to Andrew Norris-Green, Mr Green's Boer Goats, Moonta.
"He's a very good Boer goat buck, he has muscle, he's got a very good head, a good neck and good width," Mr Mitchell said.-
"He's packed with muscle, which is what we're after. He's got the look of a champion."
Mr Green's Boer Goats also won senior champion buck with an entry from the buck 36 months and over.
Wallaroo breeder Margaret Miller, Coota Park, always does well in the Boer goat judging and this year was no exception.
Her entries won reserve senior champion buck - from the buck 24 months and under 36 months class - and she was named most successful exhibitor.
