IT was a back-to-back supreme champion pig in show win for Michael, Margaret and Shaun Blenkiron, Gumshire, Keyneton, with a Large White boar.
Last year the Blenkirons also won supreme pig with a Large White boar.
This year, as soon as the supreme walked out in the boar, five months and under seven months, judge Barry Cooke, Casino, NSW, was full of praise for him.
"I've found a boar that I think is nice and correct," he said. "He walks well and is very active. He's got a strong topline and I like his ham and back end. This young boar is in perfect condition.
"All round, he's a very handy boar. He's a credit to the breeders."
In judging the interbreed section for supreme pig, the other judge, Craig Beaumont, Bendigo, Vic, said the boar was an outstanding example of the breed.
"This is the type of pig the industry needs us to breed," he said.
"The sheer volume of meat on him is impressive.
"No matter what pig you put this boar over, it will produce excellent carcase pigs."
Gumshire also showed the Large White reserve junior champion and reserve champion sow.
