YORKE Peninsula farmer Richard Way, Ramsay, thinks there are a lot of "goodies" in the budget, including tax deductions for small business, but he cannot understand the delay for some of the other incentives.
"The fencing and fodder funding is also a positive, but why has the initiative been delayed to 2016?" he said.
"Unfortunately, this may encourage people to delay jobs they should be doing, just because they will be able to do it cheaper in a year.
"And if you're a supplier, you could end up with reduced demand for 12 months, and then a big demand once the incentive kicks in.
"The funding should be available immediately, so everyone can work under the same regime."
Richard was also "disappointed'' there were no extra funds for infrastructure in SA.
"Our roads are in a perilous state and a lot of our local government roads are suffering, so there is a need for more funding there," he said.
"Cooperative Research Centre funding was also cut, and there weren't any extra funds for the CSIRO, who are still suffering from the funding cut it had last year - if we are not funding research and basic science, we're not funding our future."
