LIBERAL Member for Mount Gambier Troy Bell says he is confident of support from former opposition and now Labor Investment and Trade Minister Martin Hamilton-Smith and Independent Regional Development Minister Geoff Brock for his inquiry into unconventional gas mining in the South East.
"This is a commitment I made to the people .... before the 2014 state election and I am pleased to honour it," he said last week.
"It is important that the parliament is able to hear from all stakeholders about this issue and that the community has an appropriate forum to raise their concerns.
"The inquiry will consider potential risks and impacts on existing land use from hydraulic fracture stimulation in the SE.
"This inquiry will succeed with the support of Geoff Brock and Martin Hamilton-Smith. I am certain of Martin's support, given this is the policy he developed prior to the election (in March).
"I am equally confident that Geoff Brock, as Regional Development Minister, will support the SE community being listened to regarding the future of land use."
