ROSEWORTHY transport operator Peter Kemp thinks the state government would be better off investing in improving road infrastructure and driver training than reducing speed limits from 110 kilometres an hour to 100km/hr.
"I reckon it's disgraceful," he said.
"We travel a lot of country roads and our trucks are speed limited; if everyone's going to be on 100km/hr, it's going to be difficult.
"He (Road Safety Minister Tony Piccolo) better put his money where his mouth is and fix the roads - next thing they'll be putting it back to 80km/hr because the roads are shocking."
Mr Kemp said he did not think dropping the speed limit would save any lives, particularly with increased traffic on the road.
He said driver training would be a better use of resources.
"We go to Murray Bridge every day and someone always passes us where they shouldn't," he said.
"They should be putting money into driver training or something like that."
