THE early bird gets the discount – that’s the message for landcarers heading to this year’s 2015 State Community Landcare Conference in Waikerie.
Tickets for the three-day State Community Landcare Conference are now on sale and discounts for early bird purchasers will end on Friday, August 14.
Attendees can opt to register for one, two or all three days.
The theme for the September 14-16 conference is Landcare – connecting people and healthy landscapes.
Landcare Association of SA chairman Gerry Butler said the preliminary conference program is now available on the Landcare SA website.
He said it would be a jam-packed conference and one of the highlights would be the presentation of the 2015 Premier’s Natural Resources Management Awards and the State Landcare Awards at the conference dinner on Tuesday, September 15.
"The conference and the awards celebrate a wide array of activities, including people involved in capacity building, innovation in farming enterprises and those who are helping preserve the environmental values we have in society," Mr Butler said.
Conference patron Neil Andrew AO, a well-known Riverland identity and chairperson of the Murray Darling Basin Authority, said he is honoured to hold the position and encouraged all landcarers to attend this important Riverland event being held in Waikerie.
Speakers at the conference include National Landcare Advisory Committee chair Sue Middleton, Australian Resilience Centre's Paul Ryan and Aboriginal Lands Trust CEO Kerry Colbung.
