YORKE Peninsula cropper Greg Twelftree has had his earliest finish to harvest at the Wauraltee property where he farms with his wife Sue, son Todd and daughter-in-law Rachel.
Harvest wrapped-up two weeks ago, with good results.
"We're fairly happy with how it went, considering the lack of spring rain the crops held up well," Mr Twelftree said.
"Our soil was saturated at the end of August after good early rains, but in September-October we experienced very little worthwhile rainfall.
"The lack of a wet spring meant we had minimal leaf disease, so we only had to spray our chickpeas once.
"In the end, our screenings were low and the yields were pretty good."
Grain prices have been one of the highpoints of the 2014 harvest.
"We've been very happy with the prices we've been getting," he said.
"Prices are really quite amazing at the moment; they're going very, very well."
With wheat surging over the $300-a-tonne mark at the moment, the Twelftrees have taken the opportunity to look ahead to the 2015 season.
"We've pre-sold a little bit of next year's harvest, because the prices are so good," he said.
