A CEREAL breeder and graingrower with decades of experience in the cropping industry was recognised at a dinner in Adelaide on Monday night.
Prof Andrew Barr, Mallala, is an internationally renowned grains expert and member of the Southern Panel of GRDC.
He was awarded the Services to Primary Production award at the Agricultural Bureau of South Australia’s annual Spirit of Excellence in Agriculture awards.
On the same night, Port Lincoln fisheries work health and safety and training consultant Alexandra Thomas was awarded the Rural Youth Bursary.
Tara Hindson, an assistant farm manager from Frances, on the SA-Victorian border, was announced the winner of the Peter Olsen Fellowship.
