FARMERS have the chance to win big by completing a survey on precision agriculture.
The Society of Precision Agriculture Australia (SPAA) survey is a key component of a new two-year project to provide PA support for farmers and advisers.
SPAA executive officer Nicole Dimos said “the responses to the survey will be very important for developing six new factsheets focused on precision agriculture”.
“We want farmers and industry to decide the factsheet topics, tell us what the real PA information needs, by highlighting the issues so SPAA can continue to provide support for those committed to applying PA in their farm businesses,” she said.
And as an incentive, a prize (valued at $500 worth of PA services and consulting of your choice) is up for grabs to survey respondents, in a competition funded via a grant from the SA Grains Industry Trust.
SPAA president Robin Schaefer said the support from SAGIT was fantastic.
"It highlights the importance of PA technologies in securing business strength in the grains industry – about improving farm sustainability and the profits of graingrowers," he said.
"We are thrilled to be able to provide this support for the industry and educating the tools and technologies through tips and case studies to ensure they are well understood and ultimately adopted."
