INNOVATORS that aim to improve the State's dairy industry can now apply for finance up to $20,000 from the recently-established SA Dairy Industry Fund.
The fund was launched earlier this year, with proceeds collected from the sale of the SA Dairyfarmers' Association milk brand, SADA Fresh.
Fund chair Dennis Mutton said they were interested in concepts that would improve the productivity, performance, business growth and diversity of the SA dairy industry.
"We are particularly keen to receive applications that focus on supporting and encouraging local investment and value-adding, both in terms of new products and opening up new markets here in Australia and overseas,” he said.
"Projects that improve the capacity and resilience of dairy communities to manage change and volatility are also of interest."
In the first stage of the process, applicants are being asked to provide a brief outline of their concept as an expression of interest.
Applications close February 16, with the fund board to finalise a shortlist in early March.
Shortlisted projects will then be required to submit more detailed information before the successful applicants are announced in April.
