A 'BEAUTIFUL' cow was awarded the sash for supreme Australian Lowline exhibit by judge Andrew Chapman of Calliope, Qld.
Glenlonny Georgy Girl, from the Glenlonny Lowline stud at Glencoe, was the senior champion female, before claiming grand champion female title over junior champion Karlee Park Jenney, from Karlee Park Lowlines.
Mr Chapman said he was looking for good examples of feminine traits and the champions showed these.
"We want to see females reproduce as soon as possible, calve easily, milk and do a good job," he said.
He said Georgy Girl had a nice hindquarter and was a "beautiful cow with a lovely udder".
Breeder Sue Foureur was also impressed with the quality of a cow she called "awesome". The cow was the first calf of Karlee Park Delta Dawn, one of the foundation females when the Glenlonny stud started four years ago.
"She (Delta Dawn) throws awesome females," said Ms Foureur, who breeds for deep-barelled, beefy cows to target the beef, rather than hobby market.
"I breed slightly bigger than the average Lowline, trying to meet that market," she said.
