A HEFTY heifer from Argyllshire Angus, Penola, was a standout in the Royal Adelaide Show Angus classes.
Argyllshire Vicky H25, exhibited by the Gray family, was the oldest of the junior heifers on show at 18 months, and came away with the grand champion female sash.
It was the second year in a row Argyllshire took home the grand champion female sash.
Both heifers were by the same bull - Vermont connection - which the Gray family bought from the Vermont dispersal sale.
Argyllshire co-principal Jamie Gray said it was the best female they had bred.
Judge Charles Wallace, Cressy, Tas, described the heifer as "not extreme, smooth, commercial-type female".
"You would want any number of these out in the paddock, with her ability to get around both small and big areas to search for a feed," he said.
The heifer was shown as a calf on its mother at last year's Royal and will return next year with a calf at foot, by Nampara Emperor H3, due in three months.
Senior champion Angus cow was Shea-Oak Rise Dream G3, exhibited by Henri Deans, Tanunda.
Newlyn Park Harold H2, shown by HA Newman & Co, was junior and grand champion bull because of his tremendous muscle.
